As a Building Permit Administrator, you will become an important part of the Construction Section and our dedicated building permit team. Here, administrators and inspectors work closely together, responsible for the examination of permits and notifications according to the Planning and Building Act. We work with a pedagogical and promoting authority practice where dialogue, service, and clarity are in focus. WORK ASSIGNMENTS
Luleå is growing and developing rapidly with many exciting investments and urban development projects. As a Building Permit Administrator, you will help shape this development.
In the role of Building Permit Administrator at Luleå Municipality, you will work with the examination of applications for permits and preliminary decisions, as well as notification cases based on the Planning and Building Act. This involves assessing the suitability of the measure but also an assessment of design and layout.
The work also includes processing and deciding on coastal protection cases according to the Environmental Code. In some cases, you as the administrator have decision-making power delegated from the Environmental and Building Committee, while in others, the committee makes the decision.
Your work involves justifying the decisions made and dealing with our applicants. You provide advice and information to citizens and businesses so that we can make it easy to do the right thing and together take responsibility for a sustainable future.
You will be part of a group of building inspectors and building permit administrators who cooperate and help each other with questions and routines, while you are expected to take significant personal responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a degree as a building inspector, building permit administrator, legal scholar, engineering education with building technical/urban planning technical/legal competence, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.
You should have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and experience of case processing in an authority, as well as an understanding of working in a politically governed organization. It is meritorious with experience of working with design and layout issues in cultural environments and of working with preliminary decisions.
You express yourself well in speech and writing and have good communication skills. You should feel comfortable in meetings with applicants and, with good treatment, be able to provide good service to citizens/businesses, while feeling secure in the authority role.
You are service-oriented and have an easy time communicating with people. You are proactive, organized, and see the advantages of working together with colleagues within the administration and across administrative boundaries.
You have a good ability to express yourself simply and clearly in speech and writing and have good computer skills and an easy time handling administrative systems.
A B-category driver's license is required.
